The Memory Maker is so user friendly, lightweight and cute! It’s great to have a reusable camera that you can carry around with you and not worry about having to keep a spare disposable camera in your bag. I love my Memory Maker ❤️
Bought mine after thinking about it for ages. Best decision ever. So cute, so fun & so environmentally friendly. If you’re looking for a sign - this is it.
Also, the people running the show are so helpful & friendly with all things film for beginners. There is no need to be scared because you don’t know ! They will help! I love mine, and I love this brand. Thank you Ubuntu!
This camera is so cute, it fits in all of my handbags and I am so so happy I got it. Thank you guys
I recently purchased the beginner bundle from Ubuntu Film, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The camera itself is in fantastic condition, capturing vibrant images that bring a unique analog warmth to my photography. The business was incredibly helpful, offering guidance on film types and providing tips on handling and maintenance. Their attention to detail and personal touch made the whole buying process feel tailored and special, something you don’t often get with larger stores. I highly recommend both the camera and the business for anyone looking to dive into film photography!
Excellent service 💯
First and foremost, the service is AMAZING!! every single time I’ve dealt with the team, they’ve been so helpful, kind, and accommodating. The memory maker is soooooo worth the price. Can’t wait to use it for the festivities leading up to my wedding day and, ofc, my wedding day 🥹🤭
Year made because of the purchase
Not only is it super cute and comes in different colours. Quality of the drawstring bag and camera is really good and I just received back my developed film and the quality is PHENOMENAL!!! Can definitely see a difference between this quality and the one of the disposable camera! Really worth the purchase

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Ubuntu Memory Maker reusable?
yes! The Ubuntu Memory Maker is a reusable film camera, just swap out your used roll of film once it’s finished for a fresh one and start from scratch ;)
Do I need batteries for my Ubuntu Memory Maker?
Yes! You will need 1x brand new AAA battery to power the flash on your camera.
How do I develop my film?
Once you have used up the film in your camera, you will have to go to your nearest film processing lab to get your photos developed. Your local processing lab can develop your photos as physical prints or digital scans, which will be emailed directly to your phone. Processing times will vary from lab to lab, but should take approximately 7-14 days to be fully developed.
What if there aren't film processing labs near me?
There are a number of film processing labs in South Africa that accept film via mail or drop off. You can easily find these labs by searching “Film processing near me” on google. If you are having any troubles finding a lab to process your film, please reach out to us at ubuntufilmco@gmail.com so that we can recommend labs in your local area. :)
How can i get the developed photos onto my phone?
The processing lab that processes your film can develop the photos as physical prints or digital scans, which will be emailed directly to your phone.
Is the Memory Maker compatible with any 35mm Film?
Yes! The Ubuntu Memory Maker reusable camera is compatible with any brand of 35mm film. Either 24 or 36 exposure film can be used in the camera - that just tells you how many photos there are per roll of film.
When should I use the flash?
We recommend always using the flash when taking photos - unless you are shooting in direct sunlight. We recommend changing the flash battery every 7-8 weeks, but leaving the flash on for extended periods of time will drain the battery life quicker - in which case you load a new battery and you’re good to go.
What do I do if my flash won't turn on?
If your flash isn’t turning on then it’s likely that the battery powering the flash has died. We recommend changing the battery every 7-8 weeks, however, leaving the flash “on” for extended periods of time can drain the battery life quicker - no need to panic though - just load a new AAA battery into your camera and you can go straight back to taking stunning pictures!
How do I travel with my new film camera?
Always travel with your memory maker in your hand luggage - the X-ray machines at customs used to inspect hand luggage use low levels of radiation that won’t cause visible damage to your film or your photos.
How many photos are on a roll of film?
Depending on the brand of film you buy, you can get either 24 or 36 photos per roll of film.
